Enhancing community skills through the Forest Development Awareness Program

Increasing local community capacity through agricultural training related to cultivation

Artificial forests play an important role in improving livelihoods and environmental protection.

Based on mutual innovations and initiatives with financial support from (JEF/SGP/UNDP) and technical collaboration from (FAWDO), programs for forests, orchards, and awareness training have been initiated.

In the Nur Gul district of Kunar province, projects for artificial forests (Eucalyptus bamboo / Eucalyptus globulus and berry) have been implemented.

This is to provide the community with ease in disseminating cultivation schemes and supporting environmental protection and economic growth due to climate change.

As a primary factor in the life cycle, cultivation enhances our environment and livelihoods and is significantly noted in climate change, playing a role with (JEF/SGP/UNDP). This idea is ongoing with the program concerning artificial forests across Afghanistan.

The artificial forest projects initiated with technical collaboration from )FAWDO(

have been successfully implemented in due time.

They not only play a role in improving the livelihoods of local communities but also provide a better landscape in the region.

It is truly remarkable, and it is certain that competitors will come to this area in the future for enjoyment when all the trees reach their maximum stage.

The implementation strategy was very unique as it involved provincial authorities, district officials, community leaders, and youth at each step. Consultation was held for the optimal implementation of project activities, which would be carried out with minimal changes as per the plan. Since community leaders were engaged in the implementation of the project, it brought benefits to the community, ensuring that the government and community leaders, as well as youth, jointly achieved successful outcomes for both projects, which have now been handed over to the public.
